Boston Tea Party's 'George and the Guests' . July 2013.
Brookes was accepted a proposed new commission for the Boston Tea Party to exhibit a large series of canvases depicting the 6 famous visitors to the building's preceding Old George Inn.
Working to bring colour and brightness into the magnificent Great Hall with her striking large scale modern-day representations of William Shakespeare, Oliver Cromwell, Charles Dickens, Samuel Pepys, H.G Wells and Buddy Holly; Brookes' pieces are educational. Brookes has emphasised the importance of the building currently home to the Boston Tea Party with it's historical references dating back to 1314.
The pieces, which are still hanging today, have become somewhat of a emblem to the building where visitors have begun to name the different sections of the Great Hall according to the painting on the wall.
All pieces are for sale and Gemini will reproduce new bespoke versions of either Buddy, Samuel, Charles, William, Herbert or Oliver if one is sold. Buddy and Herbert have already undergone their second re-face.
To purchase your own Charles or a Buddy, please use the 'Contact' form to make an enquery. This will be forwarded straight onto Gemini herself.
